Employer branding agency for staffing and recruitment firms
Employer branding is usually sold as six months of brand research ending in a nice report. We use it differently: as the layer that makes your campaigns cheaper, while those campaigns already bring in candidates today.
An employer branding agency builds your employer brand: what you stand for, why someone would want to work for or through you, and what that story looks like in words and visuals. For a staffing or recruitment firm it counts twice, because candidates and client companies look at the same brand. At Leadstars employer branding is never separate: we produce brand material that goes straight into the ads, landing pages and follow-up. In our own campaigns candidates came in at €8.96 to €30.51 per candidate. We work on a retainer with an implementation fee, guarantee the agreed lead volume and deliver within 7 days.

Key takeaways
- Employer branding rarely produces an application this week, but it lowers the cost per candidate of everything you advertise afterwards.
- An intermediary needs two brand stories: one for candidates and one for client companies. A single generic story works for neither.
- Cost per candidate in our own campaigns: €8.96 to €30.51. That is a Leadstars figure, not a market average.
- We always convert brand work into campaign material, so first delivery within 7 days of launch stays realistic.
What does an employer branding agency actually do?
An employer branding agency makes visible why someone would want to work with you, and makes sure that story sounds the same everywhere: in job copy, ads, on the website, in the first phone call and during the first week on the job. It is not a logo exercise; it is the answer to the question every candidate asks before applying: what is in this for me and can I trust these people.
For a staffing agency, contract staffing firm or search firm the answer differs from that of an end employer. You are not offering a permanent seat at one company, but access to work, guidance, speed and reliability. That is a strong story, provided you make it concrete: how fast you pay, how fast you call back, and what happens when an assignment ends.
- Positioning: which people and which client companies you are the logical choice for, and for whom you are not.
- Proof: stories from people working through you, numbers on lead time and payment, photos of real workplaces.
- Translation into campaign material: ad variants, landing pages and follow-up messages that carry the same story through.
Employer branding or recruitment marketing: where do you start?
If your job openings are open now, start with campaigns. Employer branding needs months before it becomes measurable, and in those months your revenue walks out the door. The practical order is: first a campaign that produces candidates, then build the brand work directly around it, using the material the campaign needs anyway.
The reverse order does apply when your brand is actively working against you: bad reviews, dated visuals, a website that does not explain what you do. You will see that back in the cost per candidate, and no ad budget repairs it.
How do you measure whether employer branding works?
Not by reach and not by likes. The usable gauges are cost per candidate for the same function group over time, the share of applicants who already knew your brand, the reply rate on a first message, and how many people come back after an assignment. Those four move slowly, so you compare quarter by quarter, not week by week.
That is why we never report employer branding as a separate project with its own success metrics. It sits in the same report as the campaigns, so you can see whether the brand work made the campaign cheaper.
